Welcome Baby Jaxon

My friends Amanda & Mark had a baby boy yesterday – Jaxon Daniel Duty! … Between missing babies and weddings, deployment is a pretty sucky thing.

We wish you could have been here for Jaxon’s big debut. It was wonderful and miraculous. Truly a blessing. Amanda and Mark are proving to be excellent parents. They are really getting the hang of it and Jaxon is thriving. He just started sleeping in his crib a couple of nights ago and Amanda cried. She is constantly checking on him and she is tuned into all his little noises he makes when he is stretching and squeaking when he sleeps so it is better for her if he sleeps in the crib. He is the cutest little thing. He looks just like his mommy did when she was born. We could not believe the resemblance when we got home from the hospital and looked at her baby pictures. Jaxon is starting to get more alert over the past few days. He is starting to smile when you talk to him. I babysat for him on Wednesday night so Amanda and Mark could have a date night. They were only gone for 2 hours and missed him while they were gone. Mark has been able to be home since he was born. He will probably return to work on Monday. He has jumped into fatherhood with both feet and is loving it. I, too, wish you could be here to hold Jaxon while he is tiny but Amanda and I were talking about it today and he will be such a cute age when you get home. Right now all the love is going in his direction. When you come home he’ll be giving as good as he’s getting! Take care of you and we’ll take care of Jaxon! Love you!
