What You Won't See on CNN
September 16th, 2009
This was forwarded to me by my Aunt Tracy. I usually hate fwd’d e-mail, but I had to share this one.
This is a Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force. The girl he’s holding became an orphan when her entire family was executed. They tried to shoot her in the head, but failed to kill her. She’s healing in John Gebhardt’s hospital and he’s the only one who can calm her down. His new bed is this rickety chair and his blanket – this baby girl.

Enjoy your 72 virgins, Boys
September 15th, 2009
This is video from Apache gunships with 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, Task Force Pegasus in southern Afghanistan. They watched insurgents plant an improvised explosive device and you can tell these guys want to fire (a kid keeps getting in the way). They patiently wait, declare this a hostile act but before they can do anything – the bombers kill themselves. Premature Detonation? Looks like these terrorists passed the Suicide Bomber Course with flying colors.

Holiday?
September 11th, 2009
Today is September 11. 8 years ago, thousands of people died when terrorists decided to exploit America’s vulnerabilities. Heroes died rushing into burning buildings, buildings that crumbled on top of them like a stack of cards. Innocent passengers traveling from point A to B died at the hands of cowards, murderers looking to be martyrs. Read the rest of this entry »

Almost 50… depressing
August 9th, 2009
It’s my 25th Birthday, and the first birthday I’ve ever spent without friends or family. I really need someone here, because if I had someone here they would have told me that celebrating with 3 donuts and a chai frappe was a bad idea, thus preventing the tummy ache I now have on my 25th birthday. No Brainer
July 27th, 2009
Cassinos and I went to a conference today for Iraqi Women Business-Owners. It was basically about getting hooked up with contracts and being competitive in the market place. We were there for over 5 hours and a lot of info got lost in translation. The most interesting part of my day was our interview with Sora. Read the rest of this entry »

False Alarm
July 24th, 2009
Stone and I went to the chow hall right before it closed last night and got wrapped up in conversations I won’t mention. I had to get back to editing, and we really should have left a lot earlier but we both needed to talk. As we got up we heard the sirens – the warning that indirect fire was headed our way.
